Remote First Aid Course – November 8 – 10, 2024

Location: Camp Kanaka (Maple Ridge) – Tillicum Lodge

Register for Remote First Aid. - Step 2: Optional – Register for accommodations and meals for the weekend at Camp Kanaka.
Meals Friday to Sunday (plus snacks) and Accommodations at Tillicum Lodge for Friday and Saturday nights. $50 (inc. tax).
Registration Deadline for accommodations and/or food for both courses: October 25, 2024
Please talk to your Area Training Advisor and District Commissioner about available subsidies. You must get approval before taking the course to have any subsidies applied.
BC Girl Guides offers a $100 subsidy for Remote and Wilderness First Aid for Guiders actively taking youth on activities more than 4 hours from EMS. You must get approval for the subsidy before taking the course. Apply For Subsidy.
Remote First Aid
This course offers comprehensive training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for individuals residing or working in non-urban or remote workplaces or communities, as well as outdoor recreation enthusiasts. Participants will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively plan, prevent injuries, and ensure personal safety in remote settings. The course also covers strategies for providing extended care in remote locations for a duration of up to 24 hours. This training takes place outdoors, requiring participants to engage in higher levels of physical activity and endurance compare to standard first aid courses.
Friday 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday and Sunday 8:30am – 6:30pm
